Management Accountant

Reporting to the UK Finance Director, the Management Accountant will be responsible for:
  • Produce monthly management accounts for Adaptis and PayByPhone (PBP)
  • Responsibility for accuracy of all PayByPhone accounting records
  • Accruals
  • Liaise with other regions regarding month end intercompany balances and agree. Ensure matrix on intercompany Googledoc is accurate and balances
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliation sign off
  • Monthly payroll preparation
  • Manage employee pensions with pension provider
  • Set up payroll and pensions for new employees
  • Manage tax payments - PAYE/NI, VAT & Corp Tax
  • Approve payments on Barclays.net
  • Barclays account administration. Manage users, signatories, new accounts, Barclays.net admin
  • Assist in year end statutory accounts production
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Oversee monthly operational cost reporting
  • Manage relationship with mobile phone provider and issue new employees with work phones where necessary
  • Reviewing & improving finance processes and procedures
  • Provide general financial support to whole team
  • General adhoc duties to support Finance Manager

Other things you may get involved with:
  • Support / cover for other UK Finance team members as and when necessary e.g. during periods of sickness or holiday
  • Carry out other tasks and responsibilities as requested by your manager from time to time

What attributes will you need to be successful?

Essential
  • Qualified, Part Qualified CIMA or ACCA, or QBE
  • Experience of producing Management Accounts
  • Excellent IT skills including Word and Excel
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, particularly during month end
  • Able to prioritise work and flexible to adapt to changing priorities
  • Discretion and an understanding of how to appropriately handle confidential issues
  • Always able to demonstrate proactivity and initiative
  • Able to gather, analyse and present material clearly
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Being able to work on your initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable
  • Experience of Sage/other accounting software
