We currently have a vacancy for a Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our friendly team in Chadwell Heath.

Job description for the Purchase Ledger Assistant

As the Purchase Ledger Assistant you will work in our busy Accounts Department processing invoices for a number of companies within the Nicholls & Clarke group. Duties include:
  • Inputting up to 1,000 invoices per week both Sterling and foreign currencies and manage queries connected with those
  • Processing credit and direct delivery invoices
  • Handling all requests for payments
  • Chasing outstanding queries as necessary
  • Dealing with telephone and email queries in an efficient and professional manner
  • Liaising with suppliers
  • Ad-hoc tasks within the finance team

Requirements for the Purchase Ledger Assistant
  • An interest in working in a finance environment
  • A Maths GCSE is essential
  • Previous experience of working with a computerised accounting package is advantageous
  • Prior experience of matching invoices to Purchase orders plus basic statement reconciliations is also an advantage
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Highly organised, motivated and keen to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good numeracy skills and attention to detail
