The experienced individual will support the Milk&More Buying team based in Aldershot, Hampshire as a Senior Category Buyer on a 10 month fixed term contract. The successful applicant will category manage and be accountable for agreed categories (grocery and impulse), as well as continuing to develop a range of Farm shop / Artisan based products that appeal to our core target market the Mindful Consumer". Ensuring best cost price, promotions, quality & continuity of supply and driving & enhancing long term supplier relationships.

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

* Responsibility to deliver Sales and Margin to budget within Milk&More

* Identify and develop opportunities within clear growth areas, such as Organic and Plastic free

* Work with Replenishment team and Suppliers to investigate daily out of stocks report and take corrective action

* Support annual budget process / forecasted sales, margin & income requirements for Milk & More

* For current or new products - ensure robust reporting, new line forms, product specifications and all products and put in place, and maintained.

* Work with the Buying and Marketing team to ensure all project time-lines as per the activities Calendar are achieved and delivered.

* Populate and maintain supplier and product information as per standard format for each of the key categories

* Develop and present to Head of Buying Range category reviews and monthly P&L's

* Manage the ongoing relationship with suppliers, develop key strategic partnerships for the future success for the business.

* Ensure promotions and agree success parameters for each category are in place to deliver the annual budget.

Key skills & experience

Someone who is passionate about food, environmentally conscious and can demonstrate;

* Buying / Category Management experience - minimum 5 years

* Experience within FMCG with a proven track record

* Team player

* A dynamic and action orientated character who is able to deliver tangible results.

* Able to build strong relationships with key suppliers.

* Advanced Excel skills

* Legal contractual management skills - demonstrable

* High negotiation skills

* A solid understanding of supply chain processes

* High levels of competitive spirit and energy.
