IT Infrastructure Engineer, Harrow

Role: Full-time,12-month fixed term contract

Location: Harrow, London (with travel to support our London, Didcot and Newcastle sites)

Salary: £35k - £45k + bonus + benefits

The Role:

Due to departmental growth, we're seeking an analytical and customer-focussed Infrastructure Engineer to support our Network infrastructure and Server environment across our UK sites. From a Server perspective, you'll install, administer and optimise our Microsoft Windows servers and their related components (including our server hardware, Windows server operating systems, core Microsoft back office technologies, third party infrastructure software and applications) to maintain a high performance and availability of business applications/clients by providing on-site and remote support. For your Network responsibilities, you'll support and install a range of network devices (e.g. routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs) and provide Level 2/3 support (with some Level 1, if required) to troubleshoot/ escalate any issues (independently and with the wider team) and perform network maintenance and system upgrades (including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations), as required. Working in a regulated environment, you'll adhere to our configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of any changes made to the network, and work closely with our security team to ensure appropriate tools, policies and procedures are implemented to protect our company data. Keeping up to date with industry and new technology developments, you'll support larger IT projects across the department (local and global) and collaborate with the wider team, as required.

The Person:

With significant experience in a similar IT Engineering role within a large organisation, you'll have a strong technical skillset with demonstrable knowledge of core Microsoft operating systems and technologies (including Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, WSUS, DNS and DHCP), experience of VMWare virtualisation environments and a sound knowledge of application deployment and scripting skills. You'll have experience of delivering day-to-day support, working on cross-functional IT projects (local and global) and working in highly-regulated environments (e.g. pharmaceuticals, airport, financial services). A relevant Microsoft or Cisco certification (e.g. MCSA, MCSE, CCT, CCNA) and experience working with Cisco and Fortigate networking equipment would be beneficial.

Where necessary, you have the ability to work flexibly to complete work out of hours to meet business needs and minimise disruption.
