Job Description CIB Operations - EMEA Fixed Income Settlements - Associate - Bournemouth Business Description: EMEA Fixed Income Settlements are responsible for the Processing, Funding and Settlement of Fixed Income Securities held within the Investment Bank. We are a Multi-Currency Operations Group that handles over 10,000 transactions daily across European, Middle Eastern and African Markets of varying complexities. The Operations team facilitates Settlement across multiple time zones and provides the necessary functions required to support these markets. Position Description The individual is required to ensure timely Settlement of all Securities Transactions across International and Global Markets in accordance with the various Settlement and Funding deadlines. The successful candidate is required to think on their feet, make timely and accurate decisions based on market conditions/feedback, and communicate clearly and confidently in a fast-paced and results driven environment. The individual must be able to adapt well to change and progression in an evolutionary marketplace. Responsibilities Responsible for the Settlement of all Fixed Income activity executed by the CEM (Currencies and Emerging Markets), Credit, Rates and Syndicate Trading Desks Timely identification and resolution of Trade Exceptions and Unmatched Trades in order to minimize the risk of potential fails Facilitation and monitoring of Bond Inventory Management between Local Markets and ICSDs (International Securities Depositories) to meet client demand and to maximize on Triparty Financing opportunities Tracking and production of Trade Settlement MIS, including Fails Trending and Balance Sheet Usage Frequent contact with Trade Support/Middle Office and Front Office Traders to resolve potential Settlement issues Daily communication with Domestic Agents to maximize Settlement efficiency and resolve Trade Exceptions Daily communication and coordination with Reconciliation areas to resolve Bond and Nostro Breaks in a timely manner Ensure continuity of daily Trade Processing to allow for greater STP (Straight Through Processing) and Exception Queue monitoring Daily interaction with Treasury and Secondary Funding groups to facilitate the necessary Cash Funding required for Settlement Co-ordination of the Syndication and Settlement of New Bond Issuance Escalation of issues where appropriate to Management Skills & Requirements: The successful candidate will have: Fixed Income or Equities product knowledge Experience within Operations, preferably within an Investment Banking environment. Proven experience of working alongside people and teams in a Financial Services environment. Understanding of Settlement platforms and awareness of Settlement and Currency Deadlines Analytical & problem solving skills Risk Management & Controls mindset Application knowledge (Preferred but not essential) FIISCO/Firestar/Euclid Strong communication skills Ability to adapt in an ever changing environment Strong people management skills Ability to work under pressure - Meeting cut-off times and volume capacity The ability to partner with a variety of diverse groups About J.P.
