Job title: Young Persons Coach (On Track) - ASD and Special EducationalNeeds (SEN)

Salary: £19,650 - £21,268 per annum

Location: Rackheath, Norwich

Job type: Full Time, Contract to December 2022- (Subject to final MA sign off)

Benefits: 25 days per annum plus public holidays (Holidays are fixed and in line with school holidays), company pension scheme

ACE Project is a not for profit social enterprise that provides opportunities for learning and supports people in gaining skills, qualifications and develop confidence to enable them to take up their place in society.

On Track is in partnership with ACE Project helping young people get into work, education or training.

We are looking for a Young Persons Coach who will support the hardest to reach young people aged 16-24 years, with multiple complex needs, helping them move towards or get into education, training and employment.

Role responsibilities for the Young Persons Coach (On Track)

  • The Young Persons Coach will create opportunities for the individual participants to access and retain educational / work placements
  • Liaise and work with employers, education providers and other agencies who support these complex young people in their progression
  • Engage with participants through outreach and establish professional and appropriate relationships with them, both as individuals and in groups
  • Identify personal learning and training needs through supervision and annual personal development review/plans
  • Attend regular meetings for case allocation, peer support, training, review of cross cutting themes and strategies
  • Provide support, advice, information and help to those contacting On Track
  • Treat all volunteers, service users and carers with respect and promoting equal opportunities
  • Network on behalf of the On-Track partnership raising awareness of the programme

Requirements for the Young Persons Coach (On Track)

  • Relevant professional or vocational qualification in SEN and youth work
  • Experience of working directly with young people with SEN especially ASD, ADHD, ODD
  • Full driving license and access to vehicle for work use
  • Experience of working in educational settings
  • A caring and supportive, but professional nature
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Facilitation and group work skills
  • An understanding of Safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults
  • A positive, co-operative and solution focussed attitude
