The Company

Our client is an expanding privately-owned technology provider, with a reputation for providing an excellent service and after sales support to its multi-sector national customer base. They are currently looking to recruit a Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role
  • Creating financial statements
  • General ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Producing management accounts including full profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet reviews
  • Managing Company bank accounts including reconciliation, balance sheet reporting and cash flow
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Additional experience in Audit and International accounting
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information
  • Recommend financial actions by analysing accounting options
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet and profits
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
  • Analyse financial information and summarise financial status
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel
  • Communicate with Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues that arise.

The Person
  • AAT Qualified
  • Significant accounting experience
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to operate in a high turnover business
  • Ability to have a positive impact at all levels within the organisation
  • Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvements within the role and the Finance function
  • Willingness to travel across all branches within the business to ensure compliance with the company's financial standards
