Leading off-highway vehicle designer and manufacturer are looking for a vehicle cab design engineer with proven experience in previous, similar design roles.

Our Client is a global leader in the design and manufacture of a range of off-highway vehicles and they strive to provide the very best in operator comfort, safety and ease of use.

You will ideally therefore, have experience of design ergonomics and have a good understanding of operator considerations.

You will design modifications to an existing cab design to adapt to specific needs.

Requirements:
  • You may have worked on vehicle interiors before and not necessarily just yellow goods.
  • Light fabrications, some moulded components maybe.
  • Installation of proprietary equipment in cab - controls, displays, seats, glazing.
  • Some familiarity with operator environment would be expected e.g. ergonomic principles.
  • Good interpersonal skills to work with vehicle test and assessment team, industrial design team and internal Cab Supply business.

The Role:
  • Will be required to organise 'cab clinic' sessions to gather operator feedback on evolving prototype design.
  • Cab design work will be split between sites and travel between sites will be required.
  • Some work may be required in the area of HMI and requirements capture.
  • Liaison with suppliers on component specification and fit for purpose.
  • Checking design meets the brief and internal and external requirements and documenting compliance where necessary.
  • Modelling of installation and components on UG NX 8.5, preparing drawings for release.
  • Design to cost and working with Cost Engineer.
  • Work closely with other design team members and with associated Projects.
