1 x 36 hrs per week, 1 x 22.5 hrs per week, 39 weeks per year, Fixed Term until 31 March 2020, salary pro rata

The key duties of this post are:
  • Provide administrative support to school management team e.g. Minutes, reports, letters etc.
  • Assist with production of general school reports e.g. Improvement Plan, Quality & Standards Report etc
  • Provide admin support for school functions and events e.g. Buses, School trips, Prize giving etc.
  • Ensure property maintenance schedules and timetables are checked and updated and liaison with FM staff where appropriate.
  • Maintain inventory system for all school equipment
  • Process information for pupils on free meal entitlement and liaise with Education Services regarding eligibility
  • Assist with administration in relation to outings and excursions e.g. transport, records, parental consent forms etc and administer paperwork such as parental consent forms

The skills and experience you must have are:
  • Reasonable standard of education
  • Secretarial qualifications.
  • Excellent word processing skills
  • Experience of working with IT applications in an office environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.

Ogilvie School Campus is a school for children with a range of additional support needs arising from complex difficulties, sensory impairments, physical disabilities and Autism spectrum disorder. The school catchment area covers the whole of West Lothian Council.

The school is growing year on year, with the change of becoming a through school occurring at the beginning of the next academic next year. This will see the first Secondary pupils take forward their education at Ogilvie School Campus. The school will be undergoing significant change over the coming years both structural and Educational to create a dynamic and forward thinking establishment that will allow all pupils needs to be met in a nurturing environment. Effective learning and teaching is a priority and works alongside a nurturing ethos within the school. Staff are, creative, barrier removing and caring in approaches allowing pupils to access the curriculum appropriately. We are keen to celebrate every child's individual success. Therefore, all staff set high expectations to encourage young people to be all they can be in order that they achieve their individual potential. This will allow them to leave school as effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens.

The school is currently staffed by a Head Teacher, 1 Acting Principal Teacher, 12 teaching staff, 39 Advanced Pupil Support Workers and 3 Office staff. The school roll is currently 78 children. We are currently recruiting a Depute Head Teacher to add to the management compliment.
