I am excited to be exclusively recruiting for my client in central Chelmsford who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team. They are a highly reputable and successful company offering a fantastic working environment and a great benefits package.

Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

Duties include:

Answering enquiries from staff and clients regarding ledgers and accounting queries
Running off bank statements and entering all debits and credits correctly on nominal ledgers and client ledgers
Sending payments and debiting ledgers and liaising with team members including final billing on those ledgers
Bank reconciliations and finding discrepancies and correcting immediately
Allocating invoices for office and making payments
Credit card allocation for members of staff with cards
Expenses for staff allocations and payments
Running payroll and making adjustments
Running month and year end
Taking card payments over the phone and in person
Transferring costs and running costs reports at the end of the day
Running daily stats
Transferring interest etc. at the end of the day
Monthly management reports
Checking all search invoices and checking the allocation on ledgers and paying and retrieving costs
Knowing, understanding and checking of completion statements
VAT quarter reports
Handling and reconciling petty cash
Clearing balances on ledgers effectively

A high level of numeracy
Good communication skills by e-mail, letter, telephone or face to face.
Ability to work to tight deadlines, especially at month-end
Accurate data entry skills.
Computer literate with competency on MS Office products
