Pupil Support Assistant - Fixed term until 26/06/2020
Gilmerton Primary School

Salary: £16,287 - £18,316 (pro rata for part-time and sessional 39 weeks) plus living wage allowance if applicable
Hours: 27.50 per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year)

Gilmerton Primary School is organised into eighteen classes from P1-P7 and the current school role is 460. The leadership team also have responsibility for The Spinney Lane Nursery which currently caters for 64 children on a full-time and part-time basis.

Our priorities for 2019/2020 include developing a whole school nurturing ethos, continuing to raise attainment in literacy and to continue to develop consistency in learning and teaching across the school.
The school is led by a management team of a Head Teacher, two Depute Head Teachers, a Principal Teacher and a Business Manager. There is one part-time and one full-time Support for Learning Teachers. The leadership team is ably supported by a School Administrator, a team of Pupil Support Assistants and a Service Support Officer.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Pupil Support Assistant for Gilmerton Primary School.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.

The City of Edinburgh Council applies a Living Wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least £9.07 per hour. Successful applicants will be paid the hourly rate as advertised, plus the allowance, in order to bring their earnings to £9.07 per hour.
