I am currently recruiting for a Business Process Re-engineering Consultant to work with a London Local Authority on a contract basis.


  • Liaise with Service Management Team to stock take current organisational arrangements to assess quality, performance as well as efficiencies and relevance to the corporate priorities and develop best practice
  • Review and redesign existing business systems, processes and procedures and re-engineer to align with corporate priorities, vision and objectives
  • Investigate service problems and issues, prepare reports and feasibilities and oversee the delivery of continuous improvement in the Highways & Traffic Management Service
  • Review existing Service Plans in light of the corporate priorities, vision and objectives
  • Contribute to the development, preparation and review of existing policies, procedures, strategies and supporting delivery plans in consultation with staff to ensure robust strategy and policy framework is in place to meet the Transport Strategy and LIP objectives
  • Assessment of the adequacy of the existing service standards, and performance reports & benchmarking activities
  • Review to ensure there are robust data quality arrangements in place for ongoing learning for the organization
  • Put in place processes and procedures that ensure the continual development and embedding of a performance culture throughout the Service through team meetings, one to ones and sharing good practice.
  • To assist teams and individuals through Intelligence and data analysis to support decision making for service improvement as appropriate
  • Develop plans and scope to continually improve service efficiency, outcomes, delivery and performance
  • Establish and maintain effective contract management systems, processes and procedures for current and future contracts and monitoring of contractors performance
  • Review processes and procedures and support the handling and analysis of Data Protection, Freedom of Information and Complaints
  • Support and assist Divisional Head and Head of Service to meet their other ongoing objectives
  • Undertake monthly performance management clinics, ensuring that managers and team leaders are fully appraised of key performance trends and issues within their areas and specially the areas of under-performance
  • Co-ordinate Value for money activities to enable services to assess performance and costs across a range of peer groups and implement change as a result
  • Research emerging legislation and best practice and translate these into operational procedures and guidance as appropriate
  • Provide business and procedural advice to the Head of Service and Group/Team Managers
  • To undertake training and attend meetings as required and directed on behalf of the Head of Service
  • Ensure achievement of personal objectives and performance targets
  • Undertake a review of risk assessments and ensure full compliance with Health and Safety
