COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:

Our Client is a well-established engineering/manufacturing business producing bespoke crushing and conveying components and systems and world leader in their field.

This role represents an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Project Manager.

This is a hands-on Project Manager role with responsibility for managing projects to make sure that they are on-time, on-spec and on-budget. You will work closely with the Sales, Operations, Engineering and Proposals functions in the scoping, estimating, selling and negotiating of contracts and be a key contact for our customers. You will lead multi-skilled teams, including contractors to see the project through from beginning to end.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·Compile and maintain a schedule in MS Project

·Work with financial controller to monitor and maintain budget, forecast in Excel as a live document for weekly reporting

·Ensure all long lead items specified and bought to achieve schedule

·Drive an internally expedite engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, logistic, site installation, commissioning, and handover to achieve schedule

·Ensure punch list/snags closed onsite

·Investigate and help close non-conformance reports

·Weekly and monthly reporting

·Internal presentations sometimes to senior management

·Ensure contractual scope is met and monitored

·All variations to scope are captured and communicated to client following variation process

·Raise and submit payment applications and follow up on invoicing

·Ensure contractual documentation is supplied on time and in full

·Follow KMC project management process and contribute to continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
  • Ideally Degree qualified, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering.
  • Be an experienced Project Manager, ideally holding a formal Project Management qualification
  • Project management experience in a manufacturing environment essential, preferably in a medium/heavy engineering industry and Capital Equipment manufacture.
  • Be able to understand engineering drawings and specifications, ideally holding a formal Engineering qualification.
  • Able to manage resources
  • Able to motivate and encourage others
  • Be decisive and able to work well under pressure
  • Be able to resolve conflicts
  • MRP experience, preferably SAP
  • Project control skills, with Microsoft Project or other software
  • Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of material handling equipment desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Able to travel in the UK and overseas as required
