Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the position has the primary responsibility of supporting the development and execution of Marketing & PR strategies to generate revenue for Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh.
Collaborating closely with the hotel operational team, the Marriott Digital Field Marketing and Area Marketing teams, the Marketing & Communications Executive will support the Marketing Manager in executing strategies & tactics that achieve key financial and customer metrics for the hotel and its outlets.

The position is accountable for the implementation of specific strategies in the areas of:
  • Sheraton Brand and promotional programs
  • Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Programme activations
  • Integrated Marketing & Communications Campaigns for One Square, One Spa and NOW by One Spa across PR, Influencer Marketing, Residential Marketing and Digital Marketing, including E-Mail Marketing, Website optimization and Social Media

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the implementation of new Sheraton initiatives, acting as a brand champion and ensuring full compliance with Sheraton standards & programs, brand style guides & tone of voice
  • Organize marketing related events and encourage Marriott Bonvoy member / customer engagement on property.
  • Drive the implementation of the Restaurant & Bar Marketing & Communications strategy and tactics across all channels
  • Drive the implementation of the Spa & Beauty Salon Marketing & Communications Strategy and execution of online/offline marketing tactics.
  • Activation of local partnerships and review opportunities for local level promotions and sponsorships to gain recognition, leverage brand identity and beneficial status within the community.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager in developing and managing the different Marketing & Communications plans and budgets for the hotel and outlets.
  • Participate in content creation (copywriting, photo and video) to feed all channels, in adherence with brand guidelines and hotel positioning.
  • Coordinate professional photoshoots with approved photographers across all departments
  • Ensure all marketing assets and collateral are brand compliant and in line with the Sheraton brand guidelines.
  • Support the hotels' social media strategy with relevant story telling material.
  • Support the sales team to develop relevant tools/campaigns to maximize corporate / group marketing activities.
  • Management of print advertising schedule
  • Prepare Hotel submissions for various hospitality awards throughout the year.
  • Pro-actively source press-worthy news angles/opportunities by partnering with departments across the business and drive PR coverage within the Scottish media market
  • Press Office. Act as the main point of contact for Scottish media. Respond quickly and accurately to day-to-day journalist enquiries and accommodation requests, focusing on top-tier media. Maintain and develop an existing database of key media contacts.
  • Media/Blogger Relations. Cultivate strong relationships with top-tier both consumer and trade publications - luxury, lifestyle, business, travel, MICE, spa, food, design media and bloggers. Secure regular meetings with editors to ensure that the hotel and the brand remain top of mind. Proactively pitch hotel news as well as major divisional/brand announcements to key media within the Scottish media market and secure interviews for hotel spokespersons on specified key topics. Create interview briefing materials and properly prepare spokesperson for interview.
  • Press and Briefing Materials. Oversee development, approvals and updating of press kit materials, including press releases, fact sheets, bios etc. for the hotel.
  • Media Visits. Organise and host press visits managing entire process - booking accommodation, F&B, Spa. Arrange welcome amenity, letter and press kit. Ensure all relevant departments are fully aware of the press visit and meet during their stay. Provide site inspections tours to media and host PR events.
  • PR Measurement. Measure results of PR campaigns/programmes in alignment with key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide detailed monthly report with achieved coverage and learnings for future

Requirements

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

•Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, hotel experience a plus
