The role

EMEA Statutory Accountant

Based at the Company's European Corporate Services Centre in Bredbury, UK, the Statutory Accountant will be responsible for providing Technical accounts support to Corporate Services and Operations in the UK and EMEA countries where operations are located (including Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, Turkey, UK, UAE, Egypt, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, South Africa).

In this hands-on role you will support the regional accounting and compliance function, advise the business on a wide range of UK, EU, and international accounting matters, and liaise with external auditors, advisors and local statutory authorities.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

-Support all Local Statutory Reporting and filing requirements across all the EMEA regions including, in particular, the preparation of Financial Statements in-house.

-Managing the statutory audit and relationship with auditors where applicable in EMEA, ensuring timely preparation of audit deliverables and query resolution, including liaison with the various departments (Payroll, Credit Control, Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable and Tax) in order to compile and send information to the auditors.
-Support the annual Audit and Accounts Engagement letter process.
-Preparation of management accounts according to local GAAP in support of dividend planning, tax provision preparation or other needs of the business.
- Identification and support of cash repatriation opportunities, in line with regional strategies and the commercial objectives of the Company.
-Support the provision of statutory accounting advice to the businesses.
-Support other adhoc accounting projects as needed including due diligence activities for potential acquisitions.
-Ensure adherence to SOX 404 and internal control requirements of the Company.

About You

-Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent) with 2 years post qualification expertise, gained within an in-house multinational accounting team or a leading accountancy firm.

-Proficient in accounting provisions such as audit, preparation and disclosure requirements.

-Organised and methodical individual, with the ability to plan and organise work effectively, delivering to deadlines.

-Industrious and can do attitude.

-Comfortable working independently when required, across borders and functions.

-Excellent communicator, both verbally and written, adopting the most appropriate medium for the situation.

-Ideally you would have expertise in dealing with complex accounting issues such as acquisitions and knowledge of US GAAP.
