Product Specialist Apprentice
The Product Specialist is the link between the Commercial department, Vendors/Customers, warehouse and Sales.

The purpose of the role is to provide admin support and drive GP growth by enabling efficient flow of information between vendors/BU and sales, coordinating promotions and manage the orders for 3rd Party Logistics model of the business.

    • Monday - Friday: 9AM to 5:30PM
    • Total hours per week: 37.50
    • Number of positions: 2

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders internally & externally
  • Identify areas for development within the sales teams to improve product knowledge or sales ability of the products in their remit
  • Ensure all internal sales tools including price lists and commercials are updated on a regular basis and fit for purpose
  • Support the CM / PM team to manage stock & aged stock
  • Demonstrate expert product knowledge and keep up to date with new technologies and developments in the Networking and Smart Home market
  • Show an understanding & awareness of trends and market changes and how they may impact our business
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders in Sales, Commercial and Purchasing to ensure that communications and relations between the departments are effective and consistent
  • Use internal systems such as QlikView, Oracle & SAP, MS Office to track performance and challenge sales where appropriate
  • Together with CM/PM engage in SAP Pricing analysis and management
  • Manage new item creation process
  • Manage bid / prof request process and feedback to PM/ Sales
  • First point of escalation to all product related queries, with the ability to delegate ownership to other internal teams
  • Manage back-orders and ordering process for 3PL
  • Demonstrate a strong awareness of and commitment to Ethics and Compliance and the DCC Group Code of Conduct.

  • The ability to recognise and focus on the key issues and strategy as highlighted by GM/CM/PM
  • An interest in technology products
  • Ability to communicate with and influence key stakeholders, individuals and groups, at all levels
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to all Exertis locations to facilitate learning and development interventions as required.
  • Knowledge of Smart Home and Networking technology
  • Be able to run reports in Excel and manipulate data
  • Sales & Business skills with an understanding of call centre management, policies and procedures
  • Excellent Customer Service & Handling skills
