Credit Manager - Warrington - £40-£50K - uncapped bonus - company car allowance - healthcare - excellent pension

A confident and dynamic Credit Manager is required to join a division of a leading wholesale and distribution company that is part of a successful £5 billion global group.

Joining their divisional office in Warrington, you will be fully responsible for the leadership, direction and development of a team of staff controlling all commercial credit risk exposures across the business.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a high calibre Commercial Credit Manager to make a significant personal contribution to the further development and growth of a successful group of companies. As Credit Manager you will:
  • Be based in the Warrington divisional office with some travel across the UK
  • Lead a team of 8-10 credit controllers
  • Work closely with the commercial directors within the group
  • Liaise with other department heads, managers and teams to ensure the smooth running of the credit and collections processes and systems
  • Manage the timely collection of payments from all customers and the end to end activities to recover any overdue debt
  • Be responsible for the debt collection systems
  • Prepare monthly bad debt provisions
  • Calculate any increase/decrease in the general provision
  • Monitor high-risk accounts and take action where necessary
  • Manage a debtor book of approximately £16 million


For this Credit Manager role, you should be an ambitious individual who is:
  • An experienced Credit Manager or Assistant Credit Manager who is looking for an opportunity to step up
  • A self-starter with a strong mind and assertive personality
  • An excellent communicator and negotiator
  • Ideally experienced in credit risk
  • Experienced in managing or supervising a team of 5+ credit controllers
  • Able to work collaboratively
  • Commercially astute and able to make decisions with regard to credit limits
  • Ideally able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of commercial credit assessment/balance sheet appraisal techniques and experience of applying such techniques in a commercial credit, risk appraisal and debt recovery capacity
