The HR & Training Assistant is a 12 month fixed term contract for our client, a professional, global industry leader with operations across the UK, Ireland, US and Australia. This HR & Training Assistant role is an exciting developmental opportunity in manufacturing/distribution for someone in the early stages of their HR career and provides HR administration and support services to managers and employees on site. Reporting to the HR & Training Manager, you will:
  • Support the end to end recruitment and selection of permanent and agency staff
  • Have responsibility for on boarding
  • Deliver induction to new starters
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and managers on Ts&Cs as well as HR policy and practice
  • Be responsible for all updates and changes to monthly payroll
  • Support absence management process, including recording and reporting on absence, managing absence data, organising and participating in absence meetings and case management
  • Coordinate the site health surveillance programme, working with occupational health provider
  • Work closely with the HR & Training Manager to deliver the annual training plan
  • Update and maintain HR and Training systems
  • Analyse data and produce MI reports on headcount, absence, training time and recruitment activity.

  • Worked in a demanding HR function and genuinely enjoys all aspects of HR administration
  • Experience gained in Manufacturing or Regulated industries
  • Previous experience of verifying and recording monthly payroll changes, and liaison with Finance and/or external payroll provider
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems
  • Sound organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • A CIPD qualification and ongoing CPD.
