Leading Law Firm, Lester Aldridge wishes to recruit an IT Software Tester for their busy IT team in the Bournemouth office.

JOB PURPOSE:
Working as a key part of the existing development team the IT Software Tester will be play an important role in the delivery of new applications to the business and will be crucial in helping to ensure the quality of software development. You will be involved in performing automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users.
There are three key aspects to this role:
• Performing testing and other QA tasks on software developed by the development team
• Liaising with and assisting various departments within the business as they undertake User Acceptance Testing of new software applications
• Provide training to the business on new software applications and other systems as needed

Some of the duties include analysis of software, and systems to mitigate risk and prevent software issues. You will work alongside the software developers, project managers, business analysts and other members of the IT team to help ensure that all of the applications in use within the firm are developed securely, reliably and to the highest quality standards and ensure that all development of co-ordinated work is completed within agreed timeframes, providing regular and accurate updates as you go.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyse user stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
• Collaborate closely with other IT team members, particularly the Software Development Team
• Work with system users to understand the scope of projects
• Execute all levels of testing, including but not limited to; Functional Testing, Stress Testing, Performance Testing and Scalability Testing
• Design and develop automation test scripts when needed
• Run manual and automated tests
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
• Create detailed bug reports
• Work towards departmental and project deadlines
• Apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
• Provide objective feedback to software development project teams
• Work alongside business teams to assist them with UAT
• Liaising with the relevant areas of the business to ensure solutions are built to agreed standards
• Troubleshoot and problem solve
• Design tests to mitigate risk
• Planning, allocating and carrying out work as part of a team and individually against set objectives and targets
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues
• Develop reports as specified by the business, using the appropriate tools available.
• Evaluating, re-engineering and improving efficiency of the existing applications testing process
• Ensure that ITs' customers and external suppliers receive the highest levels of service
• Proactively contribute ideas that will improve IT working practices and the solutions delivered to its' customers
• Work with the IT Training Team in order to help them prepare and deliver training courses and user guides for the applications and systems delivered to the business.
