SMT Technician

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Benefits: 25 days hols + banks hols + pension

World-class manufacturing business who are continuing to expand and who supply some of the world's largest businesses with award winning state of art electronic systems require an additional SMT Technician to join an established and highly successful team working days in the Loughborough area.

The talented team deliver market leading products to OEM clients, offering a comprehensive range of vertically integrated design and manufacture services tailored to meet customers highly diversified business requirements.

As SMT Technician you will;

* Programme, set and operate surface mount technology machines and equipment

* Work across cross functional teams including; manufacture, quality, design, engineering and sales

* Reporting non-conformance to relevant engineering departments

* Maintain traceability documentation for all SMT assemblies inspection, equipment maintenance, placement machine setup and prototype build

* Ensure workplace environment is kept to the highest cleanroom standards

* Intricately soldering components, fine pitch devices, chip swapping and allocation

* Working to ISO 9001 and IPC quality standards

* Assemble products in accordance with defined build instructions and IPC-A-610 standards

* Ensure all deviations from IPC-A-610 standards and are clearly and concisely documented on build instructions prior to commencement of any work on customers products


* Previous experience working as an SMT Technician essential

* Experience using a range of surface mount technology and equipment essential

* Adherence working to strict quality standards coming from an electronics assembly environment, ideally within aerospace, automotive, medical devices or electronics manufacture desirable

* SMT machine operator, paste machine and re-flow ovens experience essential

* Intricate work involving soldering of components, fine pitch devices and experience of chip swapping essential

* Certification to IPC-A-610 relevant modules desirable

* Pre-kit SMT machines

* SMT assembly inspection using relevant tools and equipment including; microscope, magnifiers and inspections tools

* Knowledge and experience of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of electronic manufacturing and troubleshooting

* Create and adjust component packages when required

* Handle Moisture sensitive components
