About the role

The role is within the IT department and is part of the Business Systems Team. The primary focus of the role will be on applications that are supporting the Residential Care side of the Anchor Hanover business and you will have responsibility to ensure that these applications are aligned with business strategy and that Anchor Hanover Group is able to extract the intended business value from its investment in these applications.

The secondary focus of the role will be Team Leadership for the Care DevOps team with responsibility for managing staff and allocation of workload. The anticipated split between these primary and secondary focuses is 70:30.

You will work closely with both business and IT colleagues and well as engaging with 3rd party software providers.

You will have a leading role in the implementation and support of new systems, along with enhancements and upgrades to a range of corporate applications supporting the Residential Care business. You will be expected to become a specialist in one or more of these applications and have a good understanding of the business processes that these application support.

You will assist the IT Project Implementation Manager in the creation and on-going management of a work programme that reflects the business priorities and the capacity of the team. You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of the day-to-day team resource plan and allocation of tasks to team resources and ensure all resources are deployed on priority tasks as defined within the agreed work programme.

You will act as first point of escalation for team members experiencing conflicts in their assigned workload and you will assist the Project Implementation Manager in the creation of Project work packages. You will be responsible for the delivery of project work packages, ensuring that tasks, responsibilities and risks are understood and communicated appropriately.

About you

You will have comprehensive knowledge of implementing and supporting business critical applications, along with extensive experience of the full systems development life cycle. You will also have, an understanding of principles of project management and you may have a Prince 2 Foundation qualification (or other project management qualification) and you may be ITIL v3 trained. You will be educated to degree level and you will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications. A working knowledge of SQL would be an advantage, as would be experience in the Residential Care sector.

You will be able to develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders that enables challenge and effects influence and you will be able to show genuine enthusiasm for providing a high standard of customer service. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to successfully engage with non-technical colleagues.

You will have well-developed analytical skills in combination with ability to judgment and analysis to problem solving and be able to consider a range of innovative solutions. You will be able to recognise the important facts and fully evaluate before reaching a decision and you will have the ability to work within a pressured environment, handling multiple competing priorities, whilst maintaining personal calm and composure and professionalism.
