Design Engineer - Lighting Solutions - Dewsbury

Salary: up to £28,000 pa

As they continue to strengthen their offering to customers through innovative design and customisation services, they are looking for a passionate Design Engineer to join their Product Development team. You will use your expertise to manage varying projects whilst providing customers with products that make perfect sense.

As a family owned business established for over twenty years, they are keen for their people to grow with them and as a result of that they have promoted over a quarter of their staff internally within the past three years.

The Role

A successful candidate would need to be an experienced designer with manufacturing knowledge certainly, possibly even lighting experience

- Creating 2D and 3D CAD models using 3D software;

- Working on continuous improvement of existing products to improve profitability and reliability;

- Creating and modifying technical drawings and product specifications, including material lists and product costings;

- Assisting on a number of projects, ensuring the highest level of design quality at all times;

- Providing the Sales Teams with the support required to allow them to meet Martech UK Limited customers' needs in a timely manner;

- Communicate with suppliers on a regular basis to source products and components;

- Work on the creation and upkeep of Bills of Materials, processing changes in line with company procedures;

- Developing ideas from concept through manufacture, to launch in line with the New Product Introduction process and Custom Product processes;

- Providing support during the New Product Introduction and Custom Product processes;

- Contributing to the continuous improvement of all Design and Development procedures;

- Any other reasonable request in line with the needs of the department and the business

What you need to be able to demonstrate:

- Experience using Solidworks;

- Proven ability of handling a varied workload with multiple projects;

- A high standard of written and verbal communication;

- The confidence to negotiate with senior colleagues, consult with customers and liaise with suppliers;

- Impeccable attention to detail;

- A desire to work in a customer focussed environment
