Are you a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience?

A primary school in Birmingham is currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs 1:1 Support Assistant.

The role will be to work closely with a student who has been diagnosed with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who can provide this pupil with extra support to help them learn to interact and make steady progress in the classroom.

This position will be extremely rewarding for the right person who will have a sense of achievement when leaving at the end of the day. You will be provided with commitment to professional development within a happy school.

This role is full time and will suit someone with a Level 3 qualification in childcare or a subject closely relating.

You will be:

* Preparing learning materials under the supervision of the teacher
* Working inside or outside the classroom on a 1:1 basis
* Adapting support according to needs
* Looking after the pupils physical, social and emotional welfare
* Creating a stimulating environment
* Providing feedback and giving information to help the class teacher
* Keeping records for review meetings

The ideal skills for this position:

* Excellent communication skills
* Literacy and numeracy skills
* The ability to deal with challenging behaviour
* Creative and practical skills for activities and displays
