Our client is on the world's largest producers of containers and bottles for the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Industries. With over 170 sites globally they produce trillions of units per year on their custom design and built injection moulding, blow moulding and stretch blow moulding machines.

Their Milton Keynes site specialises in the manufacturing of industrial containers for cleaning products. Producing over 1 million bottles per day across 12 lines, production runs 24/7. Due to the volumes they are dealing with, the business has a well-established LEAN and Continuous Improvement program running across all of their sites. As such they are running at 95% OEE, with breakdowns being reduced a minimum. This has not only allowed them to maximise production volumes and efficiency, but also to only have engineers in during the day.

The Role

This is a brand new position for this site as part of their global LEAN CI initiative. The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and project managing various LEAN projects on site. These projects could be focused around the efficiency of machinery, work methodologies and practices for Engineers and Operators, cost and / or waste reduction around materials, production volumes or machine reliability.

All investigations are completed by departmental heads and the UK CI Manager. The Continuous Improvement Coordinator's role is to implement the chosen solution, collate and analyse data throughout the project to spot issues, produce regular update reports for Management team, help drive positive change with Shop Floor Staff and Engineers, and manage project through to successful completion.

The Candidate

The first six months will be spent shadowing the Head of Continuous Improvement so as the successful candidate can learn the various CI and LEAN systems used by the group. As well as this, there will also be specific training around Kaisan, 5S, Root Cause Analysis and LEAN practices at their Head Office in Austria so a valid passport is a must.

Due the extensive training available with the role, the business is open to candidates from various backgrounds including:

Production Management
Engineering Graduate (1 year industry experience minimum)

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following experience:

Analysis of production data.
Problem solving.
Exposure to LEAN and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
