Training Coordinator / Officer - Food manufacturing

Location: Leicester

Salary: £23-28,000 + benefits

This role will coordinate and deliver an effective training service to all employees on site. This will involve advising on training needs/solutions and ensuring group training policies and procedures are being implemented and effectively maintained. Additionally, you will be the main contact for hourly paid and salaried training, working closely with the Head of HR. In this role you will work closely with the operational management teams to ensure all Technical, H&S, Engineering and role competence training is both defined in S&OP's and delivered either directly or by external specialists. This role is a part time role that can be either 4 days per week or 5 short days.

The role:
  • To gain a full understanding of the site and its training needs
  • Contribute to the HR department and add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with the competency framework
  • Work to training service level expectations and agreements
  • Create group policies and procedures which in turn creates an auditable training database
  • Regulary audit all departments to ensure staff are being trained and retrained effectively to group policies and procedures
  • Provide feedback and advice to management on training needs
  • Communicate any pending changes, current issues or training priorities
  • Investigate, arrange and evaluate training in line with company polices, requirements and customer needs within training authorisation procedure
  • Produce reports for areas of responsibility, evaluating development completed
  • Oversee and deliver the induction process for all employees
  • Facilitate the completion of the training needs analysis with management to produce accurate training plans annually and to maintain them on going
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget for training, selecting and updating the preferred supplier listing.
  • To source funding as appropriate, control and monitor training spend vs budget and report
  • Network with internal and external parties to ensure the most effective solutions to training and development are provided it's about developing without always resorting to a course
  • Monitor external trainers to ensure training is completed in a timely manner
  • Liaise with group learning and development coordinator regarding salaried training
  • Evaluate all training under taken both internally and externally and consider the effectiveness of the development
  • Review training records and procedures giving priority to Standard Operating Procedures and discuss amendments with mangers
  • Effectively manage new initiatives on site in line with company policies.
  • Ensure training provided meets safety and technical standards

The person:
  • Experience in delivering training ideally in a food manufacturing or other manufacturing environment
  • We are also interested in candidates that have moved from a manufacturing role in to a training role
  • Level 3 Award in Training - Principles and Practices
  • Working towards a CIPD training qualification ie. Certificate in training practice
  • Level 3 food safety qualification desirable
  • People management skills able to lead a team
  • Experience of delivering an engaging blue collar development programme
  • Confident in using the PC
  • Experience of developing S&OP's and a training system that is fit for purpose
  • Assertive excellent people skills and the ability engage a large audience
  • Organised
  • Ability to develop and design creative solutions
  • Good communication skills
  • Driving licence
  • Experience in internal auditing
