We are pleased to be working with a leading Sports and Media organisation, who through growth and an internal promotion are looking to bring in a keen, passionate and driven Accounts Assistant for an AAT Apprenticeship.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this is a fantastic opportunity for an AAT Apprenticeship which offers on the job training, earning a nationally recognised qualification.

Working in a busy and supportive environment, there will be full training provided and you will be given 1 day AAT study release per week which is part of this exiting training package.

Purchase Ledger

Distribute supplier invoices for authorisation for three entities within the group

Post authorised supplier invoices onto Exchequer

Reconcile creditors' accounts to supplier statements

Communicate any queries as soon as they arise and resolve where possible before escalating

Manage supplier payment queries

Prepare monthly head office BACS runs for the group

Raise head office expenses BACS run in accordance with payment policy
Sales Ledger

Support with Credit Control, chasing outstanding customer account balances for two entities

Update daily bank balances and distribute to Head Office Finance team

Intercompany bank transfers - communicate details to Financial Controllers

Bank cheques for two businesses within the group

Arrange for cheques, direct debit mandates and any adhoc forms to be signed

File bank statements and payment requests

Collate group bacs payments for weekly/monthly payment runs in accordance with the group payment policy

Arrange payments for group projects and capex
Annual Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation of the budget and audit process

The successful candidate will receive hands-on training from an experienced finance team, with responsibilities including Management Accounts preparation, group VAT returns, monthly finance reporting and assisting with annual processes including head office budget and the external audit process.

This is a role to support the finance team so it will give you diverse experience and excellent all-round accounts knowledge. What is important is your committed and positive attitude towards learning and study towards AAT whilst working for a great business and team.
