The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Litigation Assistant to join our Personal Injury team in our London office within Workplace Injury.

The WPI team deals with claims arising from work place accidents or the development of occupational diseases, on behalf of claimants.

Working as a Litigation Assistant, you will employ exceptional communication and organisation skills to provide key case support to both Case Handlers as well as the team's Administrators. You will take messages from clients and work collaboratively with Case Handlers to provide chargeable support to progress legal cases. Responsibilities will include ensuring actions on case correspondence are taken, requesting relevant medical records, supporting the funding process and creating court documents. Working alongside the administration team, you will delegate non-chargeable administration duties whilst also liaising with experts and organising key meetings with counsel, experts and clients where appropriate.

As a Firm, Irwin Mitchell prides itself on the client journey and experience, so within your role you will work to ensure that client queries are dealt with quickly, efficiently and with empathy. You role will involve taking messages from clients as well as proactively providing case updates and progress information.

You will be computer literate as within your role you will utilise system generated management information and housekeeping reports from PI CMS, PI Legis and 3e to ensure appropriate actions are being taken to progress cases. From this, you will provide supporting information to Partners and Team Leaders to enable effective supervision ensuring you champion continuous improvement and best practice at all times.
