A key role within the business supporting our IT Engineer in maintaining our IT systems and processes. Working accurately and efficiently to facilitate the smooth running of the factory.

Reports to: Factory Operations Manager
Works with: All departments
Hours of work: 0700 - finish, Monday to Friday (normally 1600 finish)
Hours of work: 0700 - finish, Saturday (normally 1200 finish)
Rate of pay: Negotiable dependant on experience

Key responsibilities, accountabilities and duties
  • Responding to and resolving problems logged via the IT help desk, including telephone queries
  • Maintaining the IT network
  • Troubleshooting systems and network problems
  • Repairing hardware malfunctions on the factory floor
  • Assisting with projects and reports using our internal SQL based 'Systems Integrator' software
  • Develop training materials and procedures
  • Assist with staff training in the proper use of hardware and software
  • Assist staff with the installation, configuration of desktop computers, supporting equipment and software
  • Assist the IT Engineer with the smooth running of the IT department
  • Advise all departments on IT issues
  • Support in the maintenance of all business systems such as phones and photocopiers
  • Liaise with external suppliers and other key business contacts
  • Any other IT tasks as directed by the IT Engineer or other senior members of staff
  • Any other factory duties as required by Management

  • Previous work in an IT company or related organisational department
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of Networks and SQL desirable

Education and Qualifications
  • IT/Computing Degree
  • English and Maths GCSE/O Levels or equivalent
  • Further IT qualifications desirable (MCSA or MCP)
