This 'outstanding' primary school based in Chelmsford; Essex is looking to appoint two Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will quickly master the Teaching Assistant role and throughout the year build your experience and knowledge of supporting pupils requiring extra support that are working to a lower ability. You will primarily be working with Special Educational Needs but also supporting the class overall.

Graduate Teaching Assistant - Psychology Graduate | Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher with their responsibility for the development and progress of all students, special focus on students with learning difficulties and an education healthcare plan. This will see you supporting with whole classes, 1:1, and with intervention 'break out' groups of 4 - 6 pupils.

• Establish effective relationships with students, quickly gaining an understanding of individual needs.

• Plan and deliver engaging and stimulating intervention sessions designed to raise attainment levels and encourage effective communication and interaction with others.

• Monitor and accurately record students progress and achievements, provide regular, succinct feedback to teachers and line manager, as well as occasionally liaising with parents.

• Assist with planning and implementation of bespoke education and behaviour support plans.

To be considered for this Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role you will need an undergraduate degree at 2:2 or higher in Psychology or a related discipline. School experience is not essential but some experience supporting children will hold you in good stead.
