Planning and Improvement Manager £52-£62k + discretionary bonus

Our client is one of the largest transport services organisations in Europe, They operate an extensive range of services including buses, trains, health and social transport services, airport related transport services, commuter coaches and water buses.

The role is to lead the development and implementation of the Regional Engineering strategy and it's associated reporting, communication, engagement and project management activities.

To instil best practise continuous improvement, project management, reporting and data led decision making tools in the engineering

With a proven ability of developing complex business strategies and plans in multi-functional businesses, you will also have evidence of continuous improvement success through deployment of innovative and creative solutions. Proven experience of leading business improvement functions within a diverse operational business is essential to the role. You will also have experience of managing multiple, conflicting priorities and stakeholders whilst delivering to agreed deadlines.function.

As part of this role you will lead development and implementation of the engineering management information reporting processes aligned to agreed KPIs and targets. This will involve the production and analysis of periodic engineering performance reports, including periodic progress updates on our strategic projects with associated recovery plans or glide paths where shortfalls are identified. You will also lead the implementation of a regional engineering visual management control room reporting process.

Degree qualified or with equivalent business experience & training, you will ideally be a qualified LEAN practitioner and have experience of implementing a range of business excellence techniques and tools e.g. LEAN, 5S, Visual management A broad awareness of Health & Safety requirements and regulations within a UK Engineering or Operational transport business and the application would support you in this role
