Focus Technician (Reliability Engineer)

We have been instructed by one of our market leading clients to find a Focus Technician (Reliability Engineer) for their FMCG facility based in Ellesmere Port. This is a really is a great opportunity to work with a market leading and world class business.

Selected responsibilities would be...

Role Objectives:

Comply with and develop Engineering function Safety standards and processes
Respond to machine and system failures/stoppages, effectively diagnosing root cause to minimise unplanned non-productive maintenance and implementing robust countermeasures
Work to develop and implement PPM system under the guidance of the Engineering Manager & PM Co-Ordinator and liaise with Production Management to agree weekly maintenance schedules that fit with site operational requirements
Plan and execute W,M,Q,A maintenance of plant and equipment including major intervention works
Carry out response & preventative maintenance activities in line with site maintenance equipment strategies
Participate in the site Tier system for prioritisation of work activity & agree necessary corrective actions as required
Accurately record and analyse data from equipment failures, escalating where necessary or updating PPM content / frequency
Support all aspects of the maintenance teams spares strategy including auditing, ordering, recording usage and replenishment
Work in a manner that promotes and supports Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S and Visual Management
Maintain documentation and data to ensure compliance with all applicable quality and maintenance systems
Constantly strive to improve and promote quality, using escalation procedure where appropriate
Proactively engage in & own Problem-Solving activity including participating & leading RCA teams

Complete ownership of losses and improvement plans for 2 critical conversion lines
Improving departmental KPI's (MTTR, MTBF & OEE) by positive response to all breakdown analysis
Planning, scheduling and labour balancing (with PM Co-Ordinator) of all works on accountable lines
Spares parts analysis, control and preparation
Carry out PPM activity in line with plan and improve standards
Conduct robust RCA on "major " or "repeat" failures & own countermeasures
Update and report detailed information in respect to all activity
Participate in small group activity, project work and lead small teams for maintenance interventions
Critical skills and experience:

Time served Engineer - Multi skilled with Mechanical bias preferred
Must be hands on & conversant with modern PM Methodologies
Essential previous experience of working within a maintenance function as a lead technician or a similar multi skilled reliability role
Essential ONC/HNC or equivalent combination of education and training in a similar environment
Optional Degree Qualified in relevant field
Willingness to develop and embrace IT and new technologies in this area.
Willingness to embrace change and continuous improvement methods
Demonstrable problem solving and decision making skills
Excellent analytical & diagnostic skills
