Our client is seeking a Finance Administrator on an initial three-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours and Pay Rate:

Monday - Friday 37 hours at £9 p/h PAYE

Job purpose:

Provision of system and data support to the Systems & Control Team within Finance.

The System & Control Team are responsible for ensuring the Council's key business and finance systems, processes and banking activities are maintained, controlled and developed in line with the Council's priorities and objectives.

The teams provide assurance that all transactions in the Council's core finance systems are processed effectively and efficiently, the systems are controlled and the Council's bank accounts properly administered

Duties and responsibilities:

Working within a team to support either business as usual or project support tasks. This will include any of the following:

* Process and input information using the Council's financial system

* Data cleansing and inputting of Master Data

* Creating & maintenance of Accounts

* Approval processing and compliance review of Purchase Requisitions

* Assist in ensuring team system and process tasks completed within timescales to an approved standard

* Undertake System Administration tasks as required

* Undertake System Testing tasks as required and record results

* Data analysis

* Ensuring key system reconciliations completed

* Processing journals, importing files and reconciling these

* Reviewing reports, collating requirements, and writing reports

Skills and Experience:

* Previous office experience in a finance & or data processing role

* Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

* Strong IT skills to include Excel are required along with the ability to analyse and sort large volumes of data

* Good attention to detail and accurate data entry skills

* Experience of using Oracle /HR/Finance or Data systems (desirable)

* Candidates need to be team players, proactive, flexible in their approach to work and able to communicate effectively with a range of people

* 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above including English and Maths or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills through relevant experience.

* Previous experience in a Finance or data administration role desirable
