MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
·To take responsibility for the planning and delivery of the Migrant Impact Fund adult learning activity, informed by local people within a continuous improvement framework, meeting the standards of the Service's Quality Assurance Framework.

·To establish and maintain good working relationships with a range of partners, develop referral procedures, undertake engagement and, through initial assessment, place learners on appropriate programmes

·To support curriculum development, administering programmes including accreditation procedures.

·To take the lead in specific curriculum areas including liaison with examining bodies and ensuring awarding body regulations are adhered to.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • To develop and facilitate a neighbourhood approach to planning and delivering adult learning activity, using a variety of consultative methods that promote local accountability and ensure that learner views are taken into account to improve the quality of delivery.
  • To be responsible for the programming of adult learning activity at a variety of community venues. To undertake outreach activity to engage with local communities, partners and stakeholders to identify local needs to inform curriculum planning developing delivery partnerships where appropriate.
  • To set up referral systems through partners, undertake initial engagement activity including initial assessment and place learners on suitable programmes, where appropriate referring them to information, advice and guidance services.
  • To ensure and, where appropriate, take responsibility for providing day-to- day administration of adult learning services at local venues, including enrolment procedures and fee collection. To ensure venues are prepared and adequately resourced to deliver programmes, undertaking learner feedback surveys, promoting information, advice and guidance and liaising with local venue managers as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that a range of learner information, including attendance, and achievement data is accurately collected.
  • In liaison with managers, take responsibility for advising and supporting tutors ensuring that accredited programmes and examinations are delivered to the standards of examining bodies, including invigilating, marking papers, assessing portfolios, entering relevant information on to examining body websites and, as required, acting as an internal verifier.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Level 3, in Preparing to teach within the Lifelong Learning sector (PTTLS)
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
  • Some experience of working in a multi cultural community based adult learning environment.
  • A range of experience of working with a range of different agencies in developing partnerships to deliver services.
  • Experience in supporting learners in the completion of forms, collection of fees and checking eligibility criteria
  • Understanding and a practical application of equality of opportunity and diversity within the planning and delivery of learning programmes.
  • Good communication and listening skills to identify individual and community needs to inform and review programme planning.
  • Ability to handle money safely and Follow audited procedures for budgeting.
