Credit Controller


The Credit Controller will report into the Commercial & Finance Director and be responsible for a number of tasks within the Finance department of a thriving and successful recruitment company.

The ideal candidate should have credit control experience working within the sales industry (preferably recruitment) and excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate must be commercially aware, extremely organised and understand the importance of ensuring all work is accurate and be able to maintain the relationships we have built with Clients.

The recruitment industry is extremely fast paced and very busy, therefore the successful candidate must be able to effectively multi-task and understand the importance of prioritising.

Key responsibilities
  • Building and Sustaining strong relationships with our Customers, Sales Teams and within the operations team.
  • Chasing and collecting payment of invoices that are owed to Henderson Scott
  • Have proven ability to work independently, to secure payments via email and telephone
  • Work closely with the Sales Team to help resolve any queries that are brought to your attention
  • Updating the internal systems, to make sure thorough notes are kept on all forms of communication relating to each customer
  • Build relationships with Client finance departments and maintain full client database of all payment KPI's
  • Monitoring and liaising with Sales for potential problem accounts / overdue accounts
  • Working with Credit Safe to provide an accurate assessment of new customers and existing customers, converting credit reports into useful feedback to Internal Stakeholders
  • Work under the direction of and reporting to the Commercial & Finance Director
  • Daily cash updates and allocations for all ledgers, maintaining a clean balance sheet
  • Assist with the accuracy of Contractor Invoices
  • Ad hoc administration duties where required

Essential Skills
  • Previous credit control experience essential (3years)
  • ICM qualification desirable but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, producing accurate and reliable information
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritise autonomously is essential
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Experience and knowledge of the recruitment industry would be desirable but is not essential
  • Experience with Xero accounting and / or Bullhorn would be desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment
  • A team player who is able to pick up tasks from the Commercial & Finance Director where necessary for the benefit of the business.
