There has never been a more exciting time to join us. Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (T&G IC) will provide the foundation for one of the first ICOs in England, bringing together a wide range of health and social care services for the benefit of local people. The ICO will manage a person's entire care in the future, by linking up hospital services with community care and mental health services as well as working closely with GPs.

We expect that, to fully transform these services, will take between three and five years. This is a unique opportunity for Tameside and Glossop to be at the forefront of developing more joined-up integrated care; and we are absolutely committed to getting it right. Consultant in Chemical Pathology - Medical and Dental T&C/ Consultant Clinical Scientist in Clinical Biochemistry - Afc Band 8D T&C

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Consultant Chemical Pathologist / Consultant Clinical Scientist to join our friendly and progressive team. You will be expected to provide clinical expertise and strategic direction to the Clinical Biochemistry Service by expanding and developing practice, implementing Clinical Governance and delivering improved outcomes within the Clinical Biochemistry Service. You will assist the Clinical Director in providing a comprehensive scientific service (analytical and interpretative) in the Clinical Biochemistry Department to nationally accepted standards, and to work under the delegated authority of the Laboratory Director (Clinical Director for Clinical Support Services) to fulfil the UKAS standards.

You will lead service delivery of a broad range of complex, specialised and non-routine analyses. You will also be expected to take a lead role in audit, service development and in the delivery of improved clinical outcomes.

You will provide clinical and scientific leadership and training of staff within the Blood Sciences Department. It will be expected that you can motivate others to deliver optimum quality and service improvement, lead on local implementation of relevant national policy and guidelines as required.

For a Chemical Pathologist role, there will be opportunities to explore setting up relevant clinic sessions as per the interest of the candidate and needs of the Trust for the local population, these could include hypertension clinics, diabetes clinics or lipid clinics for example.
