Emergency Department Sister/Charge Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a substantive Emergency Department Sister/Charge Nurse.

This exciting role requires a high level clinical expertise, along with the ability to manage a complex department alongside the paediatric nursing and clinician leadership team.

NUH is a Major Trauma Centre covering the East Midlands. Our busy Emergency Department is one of the largest in Europe. We see and treat approximately 170,000 patients per year and up to 600 patients per day. The Paediatric Emergency Department works closely with the Adult Emergency Department and the Children's Hospital.

This demanding and challenging role will allow the opportunity to become involved in complex process change and high levels of staff engagement; an opportunity to work within a senior nursing team that not only drives and delivers patient care in a challenging environment but also needs to be able to prioritise for the well being of the team.

As a Band 7 in the ED you will be responsible for the safe flow of patients through the department on any given shift. Outside of clinical hours, you will also be responsible to manage a nursing team, to drive standards of patient care, not only on a daily basis but to ensure long term strategies are in place.
