Locum Consultant in Stroke Medicine

We are looking for a dynamic, flexible, committed Stroke consultant to join us as part of the hyeracute stroke service in Brighton

We provide a consultant led and delivered, 24 hour stroke specialist service, with daily ward rounds, seven days per week, to deliver immediate best care and outcomes for patients. The hyper acute stroke service on the Royal Sussex County hospital site is a SSNAP Band A, with potential to improve and build on the current service. Alongside the highest quality hyperacute multidisciplinary stroke care we have developed intra arterial intervention in stroke with our neuro radiology colleagues and the business case has recently been approved for a phased approach to this exciting new service. As part of a large teaching hospital there are also huge opportunities for teaching and research as part of the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and local stroke research network.

This post will be one of 6 NHS stroke consultants contributing to our holistic 24/7 multidisciplinary stroke services

In January 2019, The Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its report following its recent inspection of Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH). This showed a significant improvement in our rating to the second-highest possible: 'Good'. It also rated the Trust as 'Outstanding' for caring
