NPD Project Manager
My client is a leading consumer product manufacturer based in Gloucestershire, their innovative products are supplied for domestic and commercial customers. This position is a project leader within the industry leading NPD team. The right candidate will lead a cross functional team to deliver exciting new products. They will be accountable for and have ownership of delivery of new products from kick off to project closure. This could be multiple smaller projects to complex large projects, delivering to time, cost and quality measures developed by them and their cross functional team. There is no expected people management immediately with this role but it may be required in due course.

The successful individual will be a self starter who proactively drives to beat targets bringing their team along with them. They will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of project delivery in an NPD environment with an ability to look beyond their day to day role and understand how it supports the wider business strategy.

NPD Project Manager Requirements
  • Successfully own, lead and deliver entire projects in terms of quality, time and cost
  • Accountable for translating requirements into tangible deliverables
  • Regularly report to key stakeholders giving status updates and options to mitigate variances
  • Introduce change, driving local improvement and best practice
  • Leads by example in using fact-based decision making, achieving timely consensus within the team, and avoiding over-analysis
  • Risk management and mitigation, reporting at appropriate time to key stakeholders
NPD Project Manager Relationships
  • Reporting directly to the NPD Programme Manager
  • Future potential to manage team members
NPD Project Manager Education and Background

The successful candidate will typically have gained experience through either apprenticeship or higher education, i.e. HND, degree, masters. A product development related discipline (engineering or manufacturing) is desired. A project management qualification is also desired.

A technically competent individual, with 5 years of increasing responsibility related to the delivery of technical projects involving a broad range of technologies and processes. Has a thorough understanding of cost build up, knowledge of cost accounting methods and the impact on project budget and category financial performance.

Salary £40000 - £45000 + Bonus + Package
