Community Assessment and Recovery Service have received investment for expansion and we are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated qualified and experienced Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists to join the countywide Community Assessment Recovery Service (CARS).

The CAR Service is a busy secondary mental health service which offers a variety of therapeutic interventions to the people of Worcestershire County. The team's ethos is recovery driven, and we strive to deliver excellent evidenced based care. We pride ourselves on delivering a quality based service to our local community.

The team works with partner agencies within an integrated health and social care environment to provide collaborative interventions and care packages which promote and enable recovery for people with severe and / or enduring mental health challenges. We are working towards accreditation from the Royal College of Psychiatry to standardise our care delivery across the county.

Responsibilities include; care coordination and management of a caseload requiring the successful applicants to work autonomously, undertaking mental health needs assessments, participating in the duty rotas, providing support to other professionals and to those in a caring role, supervision of junior staff including students, liaising with wards, other teams and external agencies.

The workload is fast paced and varied. Your ability to problem solve and to support those with lived experience of mental health during times of crisis is fundamental. The successful candidates need to have the ability to manage their own time effectively to meet the needs of caseload management and team duties successfully.

You will be working with experienced and supportive colleagues from professional disciplines including nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychiatry, psychology, support workers, and reablement and employment services.

There is an exciting training programme being developed specifically for CARS staff to ensure the model of care, mapped against national standards, is delivered effectively by a skilled workforce.

The successful candidates will be based in either Bromsgrove or Worcester City, and preferences will be asked at interview. You will be expected to work flexibly to cover according to service delivery need across the North of the county for North based candidates and South of the county for South based candidates. The service operates from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).

This is a community based position and you will need to be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.

The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
