Brite Services are recruiting for a for a skilled and enthusiastic Category Buyer to work for a successful and growing Electronics company based on Marsh Barton Industrial Estate in Exeter. This key Procurement role focuses on the supply chain co-ordination for a particular Distribution division of the business - liaising with the European countries and receiving client orders, turning these into Sales Orders, and advancing Sales Order into Logistics activities. Strong planning and prioritisation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage a demanding workload effectively at both ends of the supply chain.

Details:

Job type - Permanent

Salary - £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependant of skills and experience)

Hours - 9.00am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

Holiday - 25 days per annum + bank holidays

Responsibilities include:
  • Manage a portfolio of materials, ensuring on time delivery and active supplier relationship management.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve/escalate queries where necessary.
  • Manage procurement activities with a 3 month forecast, communicating clearly at all levels internally and externally.
  • Undertake and maintain market analysis and benchmarking to validate current costs and identify opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Procurement Manager to assist with cost saving initiatives.
  • Achieve KPI targets and other identified value added activities.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are met at all times within agreed parameters.

Expected Skills and Competencies:
  • Highly IT Literate (SAP experience preferable)
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills
  • Team-builder and Team-player
  • Highly organized and flexible even in challenging situations
  • Results-driven
  • An understanding of the electronics business would be an advantage
  • Background in manufacturing and subcontract suppliers (desirable)
  • Procurement experience - CIPS qualified (desirable)
