National Account Manager | FMCG Company | Sales | Home Based | £Competitive Salary

Your new role

  • You will be managing major accounts, with a focus on growing profitable sales with both existing customers as well as prospecting within both existing customers as well as prospecting to grow the customer base.
  • To actively pursue worthwhile new business opportunities within existing customer channels, and working in conjunction with the DBO and Sales Director, to open new customers in new channels.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of company products, keeping up-to-date with competitor activity and market trends - identifying new ranges / products that could be added to develop additional business
  • To work with the DBO in preparing and submitting account tender documents.
  • Plan, Prepare and Implement promotional activity where relevant, with customers & retailers, communicating and agreeing these plans internally using appropriate company processes.
  • Analyse sales data and provide considered input to the supply team and completing monthly sales reports when required by directors.
  • Attend customer meetings and trade shows as necessary to support business development and build good relationships with key decision makers.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working with Local Educational authorities and/or government contracts, ideally with established relationships and contacts in arts and crafts or stationery categories.
  • Excellent negotiating skills, with ability to prepare mutually beneficial business plans with customers
  • A proven track record of delivering major sales and profit growth and opening new accounts.
  • Highly numerate and self-confident in own ability to analyse, present, communicate and recommend.
  • Sales driven and commercially aware, understanding the impact they have on sales, costs and profits
