Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust(AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.

We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.

We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified staff for the above vacancy in the Sarum Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)/ Wiltshire Psychological Therapies Service primarily based in Salisbury, but occasionally providing clinical services to the adult population from other areas of Wiltshire. We would also consider applicants coming to the end of their clinical training who are looking to start their career here in Wiltshire. This post has become recently vacant, due to the promotion of the previous post holder.

This service is within the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. (AWP) which is one of the largest and most forward-looking mental health trusts in the country and provides a range of specialist services to a population of 1.6 million people across Avon, Wiltshire, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. In Wiltshire the service is needs led ('ageless') with services for both functional and organic conditions offered to all over the age of 18.

This post is within the multi-disciplinary CMHT and Wiltshire Psychological Therapies Service, which is a secondary care team including both local and area wide services. We are an enthusiastic and innovative team which values the input and contribution of all team members, and strives to offer the best services possible to our clients.

We aim to offer a wide range of psychological therapies to clients, including CBT, EMDR, ACT, DBT, CAT, Integrative, Schema focused, Mindfulness, and Solution focused ways of working, in both group and individual contexts, primarily on an outpatient basis. The team has been active in helping to launch a new ethos in Wiltshire of 'structured clinical management', which is a way of caring for people based on the principles of Mentalisation (as developed by Fonagy & Bateman).

The successful applicant will be a practitioner psychologist who can demonstrate a commitment and drive towards improving the wellbeing of mental health service users who suffer from severe and enduring disorders. You will have the energy and enthusiasm to be part of a close-knit and friendly team, with the desire to develop your clinical skills to their full potential.

You will be able to access clinical supervision and line management from a senior clinical psychologist or above. You will be supported in developing areas of clinical interest within the adult mental health community population.
