Supply Chain Manager - Logistics

Would you like to play an integral part in the
BAE logistics Submarines business operating in over 25 locations across the
site. The main purpose of Logistics is
to receipt, store, kit, delivery and issue 100% Materials & Tooling to the
customer RFT. We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Manager at our
site in Barrow.

As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible
for engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders to facilitate the customer's
requirements. The supply chain function is very large and diverse, there is an
opportunity to influence and drive continual improvements within the business.
This role is also interesting because of the ability to contribute to the
manufacture of world class submarines across multiple programmes; this role is
very varied due to the nature of the tasks and the possibility of
self-development. You will be part of a close-knit team which support each
other, you will be supported in your development and be part of an evolving
Logistics/Material Management department.

This role will provide you with development
opportunities within Logistics and the wider organisation.

Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain
Manager will involve:

Responsibility for managing multiple teams
within functional area(s) and ensuring teams are trained to acceptable

Ensure adherence to all Logistics processes
(receipt, store, maintain, kit and dispatch) both physical and within the
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Develop by improving and subsequently managing
key activities within the Logistics Operational Delivery team.

Continually review and improve processes using
lean tools and techniques.

Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) in
order to continuously drive and increase performance.

Identification and processing of obsolescent
and slow-moving materials

Your skills and qualifications as a Supply
Chain Manager:

Functional Knowledge (Material

People & Performance Management

Experience of leading and developing teams
across multiple locations

Inventory Management

Change Management, strong diplomacy and
influencing skills.

Lean improvement experience with demonstrable
experience in the use of lean tools

Relevant Professional Management Accreditation
