Winners are working with an innovative industry leader, supporting them in recruiting, new and vital team members through a period of growth. Our client is currently looking to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer to join this very successful company.

Working from well-appointed, high tech facilities the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the build, infrastructure and maintenance of a secure Cloud based solution.

Reporting to the Systems Architect this role requires a candidate of the following calibre:
  • Enthusiastic about Linux Systems and Cloud based tech.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of DevOps and Agile Methodologies.
  • Knowledge of virtualisation tools such as VMware, KVM.
  • Previous experience of enterprise datacentre monitoring and alerting.
  • Solid ability to troubleshoot a variety of performance issues and other problems, from slow disk response to running out of file descriptors.
  • Strong understanding of init scripts, creating new filesystems, /proc and other sysadmin essentials.
  • Has working experience of containerisation and resource scheduling
  • Confidence writing test-driven infrastructure as Code (Terraform) ideally
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools and techniques (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Outstanding understanding of continuous integration implementations tools (Jenkins Go CD)
  • Expertise with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Graphana and Elasticsearch experience is a huge plus, but experience with other major cloud monitoring systems will suffice.
  • A comprehensive understanding of networking in local and Cloud environments.
  • A proven, accomplished coder with professional experience on OpenStack architecture and administration in production environments.
  • Previous experience of open-source middleware applications (Redis, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SOLR) and production working experience with frontend web services including Apache and NGINX.
  • Confidence and ability in respect of security within a Cloud environment.
  • The ability to work well and interact positively within a team and the charge to work unsupervised.

Along with an excellent salary the company are offering 28 Days annual leave (Inc. Bank Holidays) increasing to 33, pro-rata.
