Due to continued growth, my client is seeking to appoint an experienced Principal Geo-Technical Engineer in their Leeds office. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of an expanding geotechnical team, within a successful multi-disciplinary and national consultancy, with excellent career development prospects.

The reason for this opening is due to growth in the company which has left a need for a Principal Geotechnical Consultant to look After the North of the UK, this is a position that needs leadership and decision-making expertise.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

* Lead in delivering technical reports (Phase I and II) providing geo-environmental design input, primarily to built-environment projects.

* Designing and costing Ground Investigation projects and providing site-based management of intrusive works and environmental monitoring.

* Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.

* Pro-active liaison with clients, stakeholders, regulators, sub-contractors and other members of the design team.

* Ensuring that all work is delivered in line with procedures and policies and to the highest safety, health and environmental standards.

Knowledge and Skills:

* Bachelor's degree in Geology, or another relevant subject.

* Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or another relevant subject.

* Achieved Chartered status with the Geological Society, ICE or similar

* Work experience in a similar geo-environmental consultancy, preferably in the built-environment.

* Geotechnical focus with an appreciation of contaminated land investigation is important, with experience in managing geo-environmental site investigation works.

* Demonstratable knowledge/experience in the field of geotechnics/engineering geology, including a working knowledge of Eurocode 7.

* Demonstratable knowledge of and experience in utilising bespoke geotechnical design software.

* Demonstratable experience in reviewing technical reports.

* Highly numerate, with ability to understand and manage large datasets.

* Capability of producing written reports to highest standard, presenting technical information clearly and concisely.
