Providing full engineering support for the factory and the operations department to ensure the efficient running of production machinery ensuring the site continues to function as required, a clear objective being to react quickly and efficiently to repairs whilst minimising down time. This involves

conducting periodic maintenance checks, carrying out equipment upgrades and machinery modifications, identifying faults, investigating equipment breakdowns and monitoring the performance of equipment after repairs have been carried out.

The role will be primarily maintaining and attending breakdowns to CNC machinery and automated systems but will also need to be able to cover all aspects of maintenance and fault finding on all production equipment.

The job holder will deal with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs and resolve issues as they arise whether directly or as part of a team, setting the correct culture and standards to maintain safe availability and performance of plant as well as PPM with the ability to logically fault find and repair.

The job holder will also be heavily involved in improvement projects.


* To be pivotal to the delivery of effective maintenance support to the site

* Fault finding, maintaining, servicing and repairing Assets/Machines/Breakdowns, equipment, systems and infrastructures, using all engineering disciplines to ensure minimum lost production time.

* Ensuring that Assets/Machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably.

* Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance.

* Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly.

* Implementing improvements to machine reliability and productivity.

* Implementing maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.

* Ensuring that PPM schedules are completed to ensure system and machine performance are optimised.

* Completing any and all required documentation to ensure we capture fault /solution history, parts and PPM/TPM paperwork.

* Continuous Improvement activities with a focus on reducing downtime and increasing efficiencies.

* Identify and implement engineering solutions to improve performance.

* Working within projects from a technical aspect.

* Support plant criticality reviews.

* To ensure all Health & Safety procedures are adhered to and covered within maintenance tasks.

* To be available out of working hours to be aware/assist, in breakdowns to resolve issues and effectively plan around them to ensure certain machinery, work orders are prioritised.

Key Skills:

* Time served Maintenance Engineer with strong Mechanical knowledge and fault finding abilities, preferably with some electrical knowledge.

* Ideally you will come from an industrial, manufacturing or process related organisation and have experience with manufacturing machinery and automated systems.

* Fully conversant with TPM disciplines.

* Experience of working in a team of engineers within a manufacturing environment and be comfortable with planning and scheduling of work.

* Analytically strong, a structured problem solver and an effective communicator.


* Time-served and/or qualified to a minimum HNC level in an Engineering discipline.

* Good communication and PC Literate

* Recognised CI qualification desirable
