What you'll do at Staples

You will ensure all employees, including management, are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out their duties through various training and development interventions. Thus ensuring that those working within the supply chain are performing to their optimum and observing Standard Operating Procedures. You will also:
  • Work with the Learning and Development Manager and HR to deliver the necessary bespoke technical and mandatory training programmes for the whole site and liaise with external providers to evaluate best value vs effective training and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Represent supply chain and pro-actively support and deliver cross functional training solutions and learning activities as a member of the UK Learning and Development Community, including acting as local lead for the Apprenticeship Programme within Supply Chain
  • Deliver and support Health & Safety training, working closely with the Health & Safety Advisor, so that training is up to date, effective and supports our overall Health & Safety ethos
  • Maintain the training matrix, ensuring it is populated with the correct, up to date data and that the outputs are fully communicated
  • Ensure all induction and associated training is completed within designated time scales for new starters
  • Ensure all training processes, materials and documentation is maintained, up to date and legally compliant, with any shortfalls or significant future changes highlighted to management

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years coaching/ training experience in a supply chain, logistics or health and safety environment, which covers the full training cycle
  • Demonstrable experience in training broad subjects in the areas of training technical, mandatory (H&S), skills.
  • Some experience of management training advantageous.
  • Professional qualification in a related discipline and/or learning and development is desirable although not essential
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Powerpoint at minimum intermediate level
  • Previous experience of Supply Chain apprenticeships advantageous
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in both written and verbal communication
  • Self motivated; flexible; accountable, innovative; inclusive and disciplined in approach
  • Ability to prioritise and manage your own time and work on own initiative
