Accounts Clerk - Nottingham - £18,000 - £21,000

Our client is part of a large international organisation and is looking to recruit an Accounts Clerk. As the Accounts Clerk you will assist the Credit Controller in ensuring that the Sales Ledger is always accurately maintained and to ensure that sufficient information is held to ensure that all debts are recoverable. As the Accounts Clerk you will also be involved in helping with the Purchase Ledger and other areas whenever necessary. This is a challenging role and will therefore require a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with the ability to take ownership for their own work as well as experience in a similar position.

The role will see you assisting with the following:
  • Maintain cash books for receipts.
  • Cash Allocation of remittances to the sales ledger.
  • Control of transport manifests and signed Proof of Deliveries.
  • Daily printing of invoices. Post out as required / generate electronic files for customers
  • Ensuring proof of delivery is received for all dispatches.
  • Respond to customer queries and requests for copies of Proof of Delivery, invoices etc.
  • Raising manual invoices and credit notes.
  • Printing month end reports.
  • Ensuring inter-company accounts are agreed at month end.
  • Preparing revenue recognition file at month end
  • Full credit control responsibility for smaller accounts.
  • Prepare monthly intrastat return
  • Assist the General Ledger Clerk and Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk as time permits.
  • Work to include printing of invoices, three way matching of invoices, processing of invoices, providing cover for payments, supplier statement reconciliations etc

The successful candidate will have previous Sales Ledger Experience and demonstrate high energy levels and the ability to think outside the box in order to add value to the organisation. It will be beneficial if you are educated to A -level standard and are studying towards a professional accountancy qualification such as AAT. It is essential that you have strong working experience of an accounting computer package as well as Microsoft Office.
