We have an excellent opportunity for a Manager in the Data Quality team which is an ever growing part of the business.
This role will be based in Milton Keynes and is a Fixed term contract position for 9 months initially but may well extended.

The salary is between £41,248 and £54,130 depending on experience. There is also a £6000 per annum car allowance and excellent benefits package

Department overview

The Data Quality & Control Department is part of Data Services in Santander Services. As part of the newly formed Data Quality Development & Reporting team in DQ&C, the team has the remit to support the data domain teams in developments and projects to drive the enhancements to the current Data Quality model.

The Data Quality Development & Reporting team are responsible for developing new data controls, enhancing current data quality maturity, enable new and improved DQ reporting and supporting the increasing demands of data certifications, data quality projects and building the maturity of the DQ model.

Role Overview:

Successful candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of tools that enhance the Data Quality capabilities of the bank.
The bank has committed to improve this area and has secured investment to implement tools that help us achieve this. This will include an assessment and selection of the tools available in the market, Proof of concept work where necessary and the implementation of the tools into the bank.

The Role, Key Responsibilities and Relationships

· Core activity in managing delivery of Data Quality Tools
· Support the Head of Data Quality and Control (DQ&C) in the Data Quality investment bids and resulting tool assessments and implementation.
· Work with existing DQ&C teams to understand requirements and complete gap analysis.
· Work with Data Innovation teams to ensure the chosen tool(s) fit within our existing Big Data Ecosystem
· Liaise with 3rd Party suppliers to organise demonstrations and Proof of concepts.
· Document how the requirements/gaps will be best satisfied by which provider/tool.
· Support the implementation of key data into the new Metadata tool.
· Ensure the chosen tool(s) align with the Data Management Strategy of the bank and help to expand the Data Quality Framework that Data Services use.
· Build the business case necessary to support the investment in tools.
· Track project costs and assess the benefits delivered to report via Planview tool.
· Drive the successful delivery of the chosen tool(s).
· Drive the digital change for the Data Quality department.
· Deliver maturity improvements and efficiency gains to existing data domains using new technology.
· Provide SME support on core data and how to exploit the data
· Deliver enhanced data quality dashboards to deliver standardised outputs across data domains underpinned by a consistent framework.
· Drive the reporting of the Data Quality view of the Big Data Ecosystem.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

· Strong background in a data management and/or data quality role.
· Widespread knowledge of current core structural data essential.
· Experience of how Partenon data is constructed and maintained.
· Experience of implementing data controls at product, account and customer level.
· Track record in managing data projects to completion.
· Experience of managing multi-skilled teams and/or matrix management.
· Strong stakeholder management and working with 3rd parties to deliver on time and within budget.
· Ability to start with a blank canvas and drive the data agenda to deliver innovation.
· Experience of data reporting and delivering outputs to a wide range and level of customers,
· Assessments capable to demonstrate full value streams with cost and benefits tracking.
· Strong Experience of managing stakeholders and project leads.
· Ability to deliver data projects to a high standard and to required timeframes.
· Ability to report milestones, status and outcomes to senior staff.
· Ability to assess priorities and leading initiatives from initial idea through to implementation.
· Ability to understand and communicate clearly at all levels to stakeholders, regarding the status or risk associated with an observation, assessment or incident.
· Ability to proactively define innovative ideas/solutions.
· Analytical ability to drive correct decisions on data implementation decisions to minimise risk and customer impact for every operation.
· A disciplined and structured attitude to work that delivers multiple solutions and balances conflicting timescales with a "can do" / positive attitude and approach.
· Professional and/or Post Graduate Qualification or equivalent, with a strong financial / data background.
· Technical skills to be able to assess new technological tools for implementation for use to transform current toolkit.
· Knowledge of big data desirable but ability to easily extend a solid technical skill set in this area is essential.
