Bakkavor Meals, based in Wigan, specialises in making chilled ready meals, food to go salads and vegetable accompaniments and employs over 1,000 people. It is part of the Bakkavor Meals sector which has eight factories in the UK.

JOB DETAIL

A fantastic opportunity for a Team Manager to join the team at our food manufacturing facility at Bakkavor Meals Wigan. Your role will be to lead an area or shift manufacturing team. To safely deliver the daily production schedule to the required quality, service, and cost standards.

Must have experience

People

* Responsible for ensuring the correct skills and numbers are available to complete the plan

* Identify, develop and coach team members to deliver and exceed performance requirements. Consider succession planning.

* Ensure correct procedures are followed for example; hygiene, absence reporting and certification, food safety and general performance requirements

* Performance management of all staff in area, including high care low care and ancillary staff

Machinery / Equipment

* Responsible for the correct usage of all equipment within your designated area including both fixed and portable equipment

* Ensure that equipment is used safely, and all defects are promptly reported to engineers

Geography

* Responsible for the whole area assigned to you including equipment, corridors and shared walkways

* Responsible for regular fabric audits and reporting hygiene and damage issues to the relevant department

Materials & products

• Responsible for the quality of final product from each line

• Ensure materials comply to standards

• All wip and materials in your area

• Waste measurement and control in your area

KPI's

* KPI Shift Report required to be completed daily
